A former co-host of CTV’s daily morning program, Your Morning, and contributor to CTV’s eTalk, Ben Mulroney is regarded as one of Canada’s premier television hosts.
Despite being the son of former Canadian Prime Minister Brian Mulroney, having a law degree from Laval University, and a history degree from Duke University, Mulroney found his calling in show business, not politics.
Mulroney got his start as the Quebec City Correspondent for talktv’s The Chatroom. He then moved to the new role of entertainment reporter for CTV’s Canada AM. He was also the host of Canadian Idol for six seasons, which was the most-watched English language Canadian television show on record at the time. Mulroney then co-hosted eTalk from its inception, interviewing thousands of stars and reporting from hundreds of red carpets, including the Oscars, Golden Globes, the Emmys, and the Juno Awards.
Mulroney has also appeared as a contributor on the Weekend Edition of ABC News’ morning news program, Good Morning America, and has joined host Kelly Ripa as guest co-host on the popular daytime talk show Live! With Kelly twice.
Highly regarded as a preeminent charitable emcee, Mulroney also hosts a variety of philanthropic events for various causes on a regular basis and works closely with a number of charitable organizations, such as Cystic Fibrosis Canada and SickKids. Mulroney was also the national spokesperson for WaterCan in 2012, a charity focused on bringing drinking water to those most in need. In this capacity, he helped raise funds and awareness by climbing the highest peak in Africa, Mt. Kilimanjaro.
