Poised, professional, and endlessly relatable, Cheryl Hickey is best known as the former co-host of the pre-eminent entertainment news program, ET Canada. Throughout the show’s incredible 18-year run, she greeted over half a million loyal viewers each night as she relayed in-depth profiles, breaking news coverage, and behind-the-scenes exclusives. Awarded two consecutive Canadian Screen Awards for Best Host, Hickey brings her warmth, authenticity, and friendly personality to every event as an experienced host and public speaker.
A broadcast media veteran, Hickey has been on the airwaves for more than two decades. She started her career in radio before joining Global as a videographer and news “chopper” reporter. In 2001, she moved into news, covering courts and crime, which sharpened her storytelling instincts, before landing the entertainment beat, where she covered the hottest stars and allowed viewers to rub shoulders with Hollywood’s elite.
Hickey joined ET Canada in 2005, where she interviewed stars and luminaries ranging from Brad Pitt to Oprah Winfrey, and reported from the red carpets of the Oscars, the Golden Globes, the Juno’s, the Grammy’s, Festival de Cannes, and many more. She was the only female host to anchor all 18 seasons, connecting deeply with both celebrities and audiences alike. In 2020, Hickey hosted HGTV Canada’s hit reality show, Family Home Overhaul.
