Prior to this, Solomon was the host of some Canada’s most popular national television news programs, including CTV’s Power Play with Evan Solomon and Question Period; CBC’s award-winning Power & Politics with Evan Solomon, CBC News: Sunday, and CBC News: Sunday Night. He won a Canadian Screen Award in 2020 as host of Power Play.
In addition, Solomon was the host of BellMedia/iHeart Radio’s daily two-hour radio program, The Evan Solomon Show; the executive producer and host of the Sirius XM radio program, Everything is Political; host of both Futureworld and Hot Type; and the host and producer of The Change Makers, along with a series for PBS called Masters of Technology. He was also a columnist for Maclean’s and the co-founder and editor-in-chief of Shift magazine.
A bestselling author, Solomon’s books include Fueling the Future: How the Battle Over Energy Is Changing Everything, which was nominated for the National Business Book Award and the National Science Book of the Year, and Feeding the Future: From Fat to Famine, How to Solve the World’s Food Crisis. Both books were re-released as Food and Fuel. He has also written the bestselling novel, Crossing the Distance, two children’s books, and is a columnist for Maclean’s magazine and a CTV News special correspondent on politics and global events.
