Darrin Rose is one of Canada’s most popular comedians and an award-winning writer and actor. He’s best known for playing Bill on the hit CBC sitcom Mr. D for eight seasons, as the host of Match Game on the Comedy Network for four years, and as Doc on the hit show, Letterkenny. No matter what the event, Rose never ceases to delight audiences with his polished performances and hilarious material.
Rose has appeared twice on The Late Late Show on CBS and is an eight-time performer at the Montreal Just for Laughs Comedy Festival. He’s also written for the CBS sitcom, Happy Together, starring Damon Wayans Jr., and recently sold a TV show to Sony based on his award-winning short film, One Last Last Heist, which played at the Tribeca Film Festival.
A Canadian Comedy Award-winner, Rose has twice been nominated as the Best Stand-Up in the county. His half-hour CTV stand-up special was nominated for a Canadian Screen Award for Best Performance in a Comedy Series. He was also nominated for a Canadian Screen Award as Best Supporting Actor for his role on Mr. D. TV Guide called Rose “hilarious!”, the Globe and Mail called him “impeccable”, and GQ magazine called him “one of the hottest comics in Canada.”
Rose is a stand-out conference host and awards show emcee. He has been highly praised by past corporate clients, including TD Bank, Loblaws, and Fidelity Investments. He has also earned rave reviews hosting shows such as the Canadian Screen Awards, Canada’s Most Admired Companies Awards, Crystal Radio Awards, the Economic Developer’s Council of Ontario Awards, the KIRA Awards, and the Kidscreen Awards in Miami.
In addition, Rose tours internationally as a stand-up comedian and has played at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, the Borgata in Atlantic City, and in Hong Kong, Singapore, Ireland, Mexico, and the United Kingdom. He regularly tours across the United States and Canada.
