Kayla Grey is an award-winning sports journalist, storyteller, and entrepreneur. In 2018, she became the first Black woman to host a flagship sports highlight show in Canada and has since won numerous awards for her work and impact. Through sharing her journey to becoming a celebrated changemaker in Canadian media, Grey empowers audiences to transform personal challenges into catalysts for success, while sharing actionable strategies for building genuine human connection in an increasingly digital world.
Grey’s dedication to advocating for diversity and authenticity within the sports and media landscape led to the creation of her TSN.ca show, The Shift with Kayla Grey, for which she is both the host and a co-executive producer. The Shift brings an original, energetic approach to sports entertainment, exploring the intersection between sports, life, and culture and featuring interviews with athletes, entertainers, and thought leaders. Grey also reports courtside for TSN’s live coverage of the Toronto Raptors.
In 2021, Grey was recognized by Women of Influence as one of Canada’s top 25 most influential women, and in 2022 received the Changemaker Award from the Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television. That same year, she was honoured with The Jahmil French Award for being a rising star in Canadian media at the inaugural Legacy Awards. Grey was also named one of Chatelaine’s 2020 “Women of the Year” and one of Refinery29‘s Powerhouse Women of 2020.
In addition to her broadcasting career, Grey also works in collaboration with many well-known brands and new businesses through her company, Kayla Grey Media. Her focus is to help them unlock their storytelling and connecting capabilities.
