Netflix Releases Living On One Dollar in Canada and US!
An award-winning film that has been called “a must watch” by Nobel Laureate Muhammad Yunus, Living on One Dollar follows the journey of young film-makers Chris Temple and Zach Ingrasci as they set out to live on just $1 a day for two months in rural Guatemala. They battle hunger, parasites, and extreme financial stress as they attempt to survive the real challenges that plague over 1.1 billion people around the world. While the friends quickly learn there are no easy answers, the generosity of those around them gives them hope that there are effective ways to make a difference. Just released on Netflix this week, the film has already garnered thousands of views on the site and viewership continues to grow.
Chris and Zach are pioneering a new style of documentary film-making, using immersive storytelling to raise awareness and inspire action around pressing global issues. Their non-profit organization, Living On One, has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for sustainable poverty alleviation and awareness that directly supports micro-finance, education scholarships, and refugee services around the world.
