Attention is today’s most valuable — and elusive — commodity. Whether you’re in marketing, communications, leadership, or sales, nothing works without it. But in a world overflowing with content and noise, earning real attention has never been harder. Steve Pratt has spent his career in marketing and media learning how to earn the attention of others. Today, in his fun and practical keynotes, he shares strategies on how we can all become better communicators that cut through the noise, make a bigger impact, and deliver memorable messages.
Pratt is the bestselling author of Earn It: Unconventional Strategies for Brave Marketers, which was nominated for Porchlight’s 2024 Business Book of the Year, and the founder of The Creativity Business, where he helps companies develop differentiated marketing, messaging, and content that earns attention.
Pratt is also the co-founder of the world’s first branded podcast agency, Pacific Content, which was named one of Entrepreneur’s 100 Brilliant Companies. Pacific Content worked with top global brands, including Ford Motor Company, Audible, BMW, the New York Times, Dell Technologies, Facebook, Rocket Mortgage, Slack, Shopify, Zendesk, Morgan Stanley, Charles Schwab, Prudential, Adobe, and Atlassian. Launched in 2014, it was acquired by Rogers Communications in 2019.
Prior to embarking on his entrepreneurial journey, Pratt was the director of digital audio at the CBC, where he ran a content innovation lab, launched one of the world’s first legal music podcasts in 2005, and grew a highly engaged online community at CBC Radio 3. Pratt originally learned how to earn attention by producing television, working in genres ranging from music (MuchMusic) to children’s programming (YTV) and entertainment journalism to local news.
