His relentless focus yielded outstanding results for Tangerine and its customers, and proved particularly instrumental in the $3.1 billion acquisition of ING DIRECT by Scotiabank in 2012.
Peter’s career with Tangerine began in Canada more than 16 years ago as a founding member of its senior leadership team. Prior to his appointment as CEO in 2008, he held the posts of Chief Risk Officer, Chief of Staff and Chief Lending Officer at Tangerine.
Peter is a social media leader and a frequent blogger. He is regularly profiled in media, including a monthly leadership column with The Globe and Mail, a feature in Forbes magazine as the Social CEO, and in The Huffington Post as one of top 50 Social CEOs on Twitter.
He was named 2012 Business Person of the Year by Western Law School, and recognized as 2010 Communicator of the Year by the IABC Toronto Chapter. In addition, he was awarded the Queen Elizabeth Diamond Jubilee award for his contribution to Canada’s leadership as a digital nation and for his contribution to his community.
