For the first time ever, the world’s biggest sporting event is taking place in North America, with Canada co-hosting FIFA World Cup 2026™ alongside Mexico and the US. This once-in-a-generation moment for Canada is also an extraordinary opportunity for your organization.
The FIFA World Cup is a global stage where leadership is tested under immense pressure, where teams from vastly different backgrounds unite behind a common purpose, and where resilience, belief, and strategy determine who hoists the trophy. The energy, passion, and lessons of this international sporting event don’t have to stay on the pitch.
In partnership with Blackfin Sports Group, we’re proud to exclusively represent Jesse March, the Head Coach of Canada’s Men’s National Soccer Team and the person at the centre of Canada’s World Cup Journey, for corporate speaking events, fireside chats, and appearances. Drawing on decades of experience building championship teams across three continents, he delivers powerful insights on leadership, teamwork, mental preparation, and what it takes to rally teams around ambitious goals.
Raising the Bar for Canadian Soccer
Since taking over as head coach of the Canada Men’s National Soccer Team, Jesse has guided the program to unprecedented heights — propelling Canada to its highest-ever FIFA world ranking, a remarkable fourth place finish at their first appearance in the prestigious Copa America tournament, and the inaugural 2025 Canadian Shield in an invitational tournament with New Zealand, Ukraine, and Cote d’Ivoire.
Jesse recently doubled down on his commitment to the team, signing a new four-year contract extension with Canada Soccer through the 2030 FIFA World Cup.
“From day one, I’ve felt a deep connection to this team, to this country, and to the direction of the program. I believe Canada has tremendous potential with this generation of players and look forward to seeing the development of soccer across the country,” Jesse said in a statement released by Canada Soccer.
A Coaching Career Built Across Three Continents
Jesse’s coaching career spans the world’s most competitive leagues. He served as the inaugural head coach of the Montreal Impact (now CF Montréal) before taking the New York Red Bulls to two MLS Supporters’ Shields as their head coach. He went on to lead FC Red Bull Salzburg in Austria, RB Leipzig in Germany’s Bundesliga, and Leeds United in the English Premier League — one of the most demanding coaching environments in the world.
Before coaching, Jesse played professionally for 14 seasons, participating in a total of 321 league matches and winning three MLS Cup championships with DC United, Chicago Fire, and Chivas USA. He also earned two caps for the US national soccer team.
The Marsch Effect
A year in the works, the extension is a testament to the trust, vision, and leadership Jesse has brought to the program since day one. Sports Illustrated shared a few reasons why Canada Soccer didn’t hesitate to secure Jesse’s future.
1. Jesse’s Canadian Embrace
Originally from Wisconsin, Jesse is the first to acknowledge that he isn’t Canadian but his connection to the country runs deep. His fondness for Canada and its player pool has been evident since he first worked with CF Montréal and has only grown stronger since.
Jesse has defended the nation’s sovereignty, pushing back publicly on comments from President Trump about annexing Canada. He has also spent considerable time touring the country’s youth programs, committed to raising the level of grassroots soccer from the ground up.
“With Canada,” Jesse said in 2025, “I’ve found a place that embodies for me the ideals and morals of what not just football and a team is, but what life is, and that’s integrity, respect and the belief that good people can do great things together.”
For a squad that brings together players from vastly different backgrounds — many of them first- and second-generation Canadians — having a coach who actively embraces that diversity has proven to be one of his greatest strengths.
2. Jesse’s Fatherly Approach
Beyond his embrace of the Canadian soccer system, Jesse has taken a deeply personal approach with his players. He calls himself an “agent” based on the countless hours he spends finding the right club situations for his players and staying closely connected to them both on and off the pitch.
That commitment was on full display when Canadian winger Liam Millar — a member of the national team since 2018 — battled depression during a lengthy recovery from a 2024 ACL tear. Jesse picked up the phone immediately and opened his home in Italy to Liam and his family.
“The second my injury happened, Jesse called me and told me he’ll do everything he can,” Liam said. “He invited my family to his house, and obviously, I’m not going to turn down his invitation, so we went to his house with my kids and my family and had exactly what we needed.”
Liam returned to the pitch and had a breakout season with Hull City, which earned him a move to the Premier League.
3. Jesse’s Tactical Vision
Jesse’s tactical approach is also uniquely suited to the current Canadian player pool — and built to grow with it. His high-pressing 4-4-2 system relies on intensity, energy, and speed, with goals coming primarily from transitional moments and a defense organized around two solid blocks of four.
With many of Canada’s star players still in their 20s, the system and the squad are built to peak together — with the best still to come.
