Renowned musician and bestselling author Jann Arden is moving to TV! CTV announced its first wave of original Canadian content for 2018-19 that includes a new half hour comedy called Jann. It will star Jann as a fictionalized version of herself — her character is a newly single singer-songwriter who is trying to revive her career while grappling with her mother’s early stages of dementia.

Jann’s recent memoir Feeding my Mother tackles a similar topic. It is a piercingly honest account of the transformation that occurred in Jann’s life when she became the primary “parent” to her mom, who is in the grip of Alzheimer’s.

Whether she’s performing her music, hosting an event, or telling her deeply personal and affecting stories, Arden’s wisdom and wit shine in everything she does. We can’t wait to see what she’ll bring to primetime television.
