Chris Hadfield Joins Forces with Darren Aronofsky and Will Smith.
Called “the most famous astronaut since Neil Armstrong”, Colonel Chris Hadfield – who became a worldwide sensation with his tribute video of David Bowie’s “Space Oddity” – appears tonight in award-winning filmmaker Darren Aronofsky’s One Strange Rock series, premiering at 10pm ET on the National Geographic Channel. The series will be broadcast in 173 countries around the world.
Hosted by Academy-Award nominee Will Smith, One Strange Rock is a thrilling journey that explores the fragility and wonder of planet Earth—one of the most peculiar, unique places in the universe. Colonel Hadfield’s personal experience in space is a portal to the vital themes explored throughout the program, including the genesis of human life and death, violence and self-sacrifice.
The series also features astronaut Nicole Stott, who logged 104 days in space and who spent nearly three weeks in the Aquarius undersea habitat.
