Jeanne Beker’s New Online Comedy Series, MsLabelled

Jeanne Beker’s New Online Comedy Series, MsLabelled

Jeanne Beker is one of the most influential and fabulous women in the fashion industry—in Canada and around the world. A long-time celebrity, Jeanne speaks on how she rose to the top of arts and culture media as the iconic host of TV’s Fashion Television, along with what it takes to be a successful entrepreneur. Hot on the heels of her new Shopping Channel network show, Style Matters, she is spearheading yet another innovative project: she produces and stars in a new web online comedy series called MsLabelled, which follows a young woman named Ella (Rebecca Liddiard) as she tries to navigate the cutthroat world of fashion (watch a clip above):

Ella, who lands an editor’s assistant job at fictional magazine Label in the first episode, is a style savvy yet naïve fashionista trying to gain a following as a fashion blogger. Jeanne Beker is the executive producer and also appears in the show as her mentor.

The first six videos, which are presented in a vlog-style format, can be streamed on the Slice network’s website, as well as on VervegirlTV’s YouTube channel. More episodes are expected to roll out on Tuesdays and Thursdays for the next few weeks for a total of 20 episodes.

The show is clearly resonating with its young target audience, with the first episode garnering more than 160,000 views on YouTube so far.

“I’m excited to be contributing to this new wave of transmedia programming that will undoubtedly resonate with all those cool, young women out there who can never get enough of the enigmatic world of fashion,” said Jeanne in a statement.

She added: “Having had the privilege of initially pioneering fashion content for television three decades ago, I’m now savouring this opportunity to make waves on a whole new media frontier.”
