Canadian astronaut Colonel Chris Hadfield made his name doing space-bound covers of David Bowie, but ever since returning to Earth, he’s been doing a stellar job of making us all jealous about his tenure in the ISS. In this interview [above] with science video channel Veritasium, Col. Hadfield describes his first spacewalk, which took place during the Southern Lights, providing a ghostly green illumination for Hadfield’s trip outside. He also takes the chance to point out some of the bad things you can see from space — like the dramatic shrinking of the Aral Sea, or the pollution of major cities, which is visible from orbit.
