Maj. Deanna Brasseur
One of the 1st Women Fighter Pilots in the World
Major Dee Brasseur has had a career of many 'firsts'. In 1988 Maj. Brasseur broke military history by becoming one of the first two female pilots in the world to successfully graduate and qualify to fly Fighter Aircraft – after she had already broken Canadian military history by becoming one of the first three women to graduate with their "wings". After retiring from the Military after 21 years of distinguished service and 2,500 hours of jet flying, Dee now uses her extensive background in leadership, organization, personnel management and supervision when motivating audiences.
Major Dee Brasseur made Canadian history on February 13, 1981, when she became of one of the first three women to graduate with their military "wings". In 1989, Brasseur made international aviation history by successfully graduating as one of the first two women in the world to become "fighter pilots" qualified to fly the CF18 Hornet - the most powerful fighter aircraft in the Canadian Air Force arsenal.
After 21 years of distinguished service, 2,500 hours of jet flying, and being the first female Aircraft Accident Investigator posted to the Directorate of Flight Safety at National Defense Headquarters in Ottawa, Dee retired from the Military in 1994. With her extensive background in leadership, organization, personnel management and supervision, Dee became a Professional Motivational Speaker as well as a Certified Master Practitioner and Trainer of Neuro-Linguistic Programming. In keeping with her personal philosophy, "Be All that You Can Be" Dee currently enjoys an active, passionate and challenging lifestyle - achieving, educating and consulting as a corporate and Personal Performance Coach while continuing to serve Canada as a member of the Air Force Reserves.
The co-author of "Achieve It! A Personal Success Journal", contributing author to "Speaking of Flying" Personal Tales of Heroism, Humor, Talent and Terror from 44 Unique Aviators and "Get Real" - 26 Canadian Women Share the Secret to Authentic Success, Maj. Brasseur also counts among her accomplishments being invested as a Member of the Order of Canada in 1999 and inducted into the Women in Aviation International Pioneer Hall of Fame in 2007.
Most recently Dee has become an entrepreneurial pioneer as Founder and President of the “One in a Million Project”. Through the sale of a uniquely designed one of a kind challenge coin, the project will create a 35 million dollar revenue generating fund destined to provide annual resources for research, education, training and family support for those professionals who serve Canada and suffer from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.

Dee has the incredible ability to connect with and to captivate an adolescent audience. Her sense of humour and presentation style had our students from Halton Hills mesmorized. Dee's presentation is more than just about flying. It's about believing in yourself, setting high expectations and achieving your goals no matter what obstacles may come your way! She is a living testiment to her "success" formula and because she "walks her talk" adolescents know that what she says is "real". Dee is an inspiration to all of us; teachers, students and parents. I would highly recommend having her speak at your next function. We hope to make this a yearly event!
