Award-Winning Canadian Playwright
Playwright, executive producer, actor, creator, and stand-up comedian Trey Anthony is known for the groundbreaking production 'da Kink in My Hair. Debuting at the Toronto Fringe Festival, 'da Kink in my Hair, has been featured at the prestigious Toronto’s Princess of Wales Theatre, and in theatres in New York, San Diego and London, England. Anthony is a former television producer for the Women’s Television Network and a writer for the Comedy Network and CTV. She is the first Black Canadian woman to write and produce a television show on a major prime time Canadian network. A mentor and role model, Anthony, founded the Trey Anthony@One Centre in Toronto, where she offers classes on creative writing, well-being and spirituality. She hopes the centre will help change the way Canadian women view themselves.

Anthony has been in the entertainment industry for more than 15 years, and she debuted 'da Kink in my Hair at the Toronto Fringe Festival. The play was later featured at the prestigious Toronto's Princess of Wales Theatre, and has been seen in theatres in New York, San Diego and London, England. 'da Kink in my Hair has won four NAACP Awards, and was named one of the top ten plays in Canada's theatrical history!
Anthony is a former television producer for the Women’s Television Network (now W) and a writer for the Comedy Network and CTV. She is the first Black Canadian woman to write and produce a television show on a major prime time Canadian network. She is also the Executive Producer of the Urban Women’s Comedy Festival, “da girl, sho is funny!” She co-wrote I Am Not a Dinner Mint, The Crap Women Swallow to Stay in a Relationship, which debuted in 2006 to sold-out audiences.
A mentor and role model, Anthony, who went to high school in Brampton, Ontario, regularly visits schools to inspire youth. She volunteers with the Black Queer Youth Group, speaking to students about body image and other issues facing female adolescents, and gives away free tickets to her shows to youth and women in shelters.
In 2009, Anthony founded the Trey Anthony@One Centre in Toronto, a women-focused, creative wellness facility. Here she offers classes on creative writing, well-being and spirituality. She hopes the centre will help change the way Canadian women view themselves.
In 2009, Anthony produced the hit play Secrets of a Black Boy,which was a box office success! She is now busy working on her new production, The Trey Anthony Show, a talk show and her first feature film. She has recently been named a featured contributor/writer for the Toronto Star.

Anthony shares in her popular talk her own personal rags to riches stories, and how she managed to turn "No's" into Yeses! This talk will focus on:

- How to build allies for your dreams!

2. Super woman dropped out of the sky! (Women and Self Care) - How I learnt that I couldn't take care of everyone until I learnt how to take care of ME!
This presentation is an honest, candid and humorous talk for women. Anthony explores how does the every day working woman balance work/family/ looking fabulous and still have time for themselves? Anthony shares from her own personal life experience as a businesswoman/overachiever and former workaholic!

3. Walking into the Darkness: How to Embrace Change.
Anthony will share her own experience of leaving a seven year relationship, a corporate job, moving to a new country, leaving everything familiar behind, to finally found out the true meaning of HAPPINESS! She will discuss:
- How to assess when to let go and when is it time to make minor or major changes.
- How to grieve the loss of family, a job, a loss of personal identity.
- How to reinvent yourself.
- How to embrace changes in your job and in your own personal life.

4. Leadership- How to Effectively Lead
Anthony will present her views on leadership, how to be leader who leads with confidence, kindness and authority. Participants will learn how to:
- Select a winning team
- Deal with difficult co-workers or team members
- When and how to give praise.
- How to make decisions that benefit the entire team.
- Why is diversity important in the work place?

Trey was fantastic!!!! I can't say enough about how much the entire Ascension community enjoyed her presentation. The kids related to her, learned from her and were inspired by her...so much so, that she had a hard time exiting the gym...the students didn't want to let her go!
