Speed, focus, responsiveness, teamwork, preparation and persistence are just a few of the critical success factors Scott Goodyear has learned during his illustrious auto racing career. The Toronto native ran his first race in 1980, and in 1986, seized his first title, the North American Formula Atlantic Championship, with five wins in nine events. That same year, he was named Driver of the Year by the Canadian Race Drivers Association.
Scott's most memorable race was the 1992 Indianapolis 500 when he chased Al Unser to the finish line in a brilliant final two-lap charge, finishing second by just .043 of a second, the closest margin in race history. His first Indy Car victory came that year in the Marlboro 500, at Michigan.
