Neil Z. Stern is a senior partner with McMillan|Doolittle, a global retail consultancy with clients around the world. He is the co-author of Winning At Retail and Greentailing and Other Revolutions in Retail: Hot Ideas That Are Grabbing Customers' Attention and Raising Profits. His clients include Sears, Target, Wawa, Harris Teeter, Radio Shack, McDonald's Corporation, Lenox, Land's End, Publix, ChevronTexaco, Procter & Gamble and Safeway. Stern is an honours graduate of Columbia University and has attended Northwestern's Kellogg MBA program.

Stern has developed strategies and new concepts for a diverse variety of clients across the retail industry. Key clients have included an impressive mix of both large and small retailers, including Sears, T-Mobile, Eddie Bauer, Target, Wawa, Harris Teeter, Radio Shack, McDonald’s Corporation, Lenox, Land's End, Publix, ChevronTexaco, Procter & Gamble and Safeway. His work has also extended to numerous International engagements, working for E-mart (Korea), Carrefour, Coop Italia, Hagkaup (Iceland) and Sonae (Portugal).
Along with his consulting work, Stern is also recognized as a key thought leader in the retail arena. He is editor of McMillanDoolittle's "Retail Watch" newsletter, which is widely regarded as the premier publication on new concepts and trends. Stern is a sought-after speaker concerning food and retail trends both in the U.S. and internationally. He has given dozens of presentations at conferences, internal company meetings and key industry trade groups.
Stern has been named to Crain's Chicago Business "40 under 40" list of prominent Chicago business leaders and was also named in 2002 as one of the 40 Rising Stars in Retailing by Chain Store Age.
