Award-Winning Comedian | Star of CBC TV's Mr. D
Gerry Dee is one of the funniest people to hit the comedy scene — ever. The creator, writer, and star of the smash hit CBC comedy series Mr. D, his signature stories about the absurdities of life at the front of the classroom and growing up the son of Scottish-immigrant parents have become famous to his fans.
In real life, Gerry was a high school teacher — teaching was his career until switching to full-time comedy in 2003. Accordingly, he bases many of the jokes and quips seen in Mr. D on his personal experience.
In addition to his television work, Gerry has also appeared at numerous comedy festivals, was named “Best Comic In Canada,” and finished third on NBC’s Last Comic Standing in 2008. He is also the author of the book, Teaching: It’s Harder Than It Looks.
