Host of CBC’s Dragons’ Den
Do you have what it takes to be successful in today’s competitive marketplace? Who better to advise eager entrepreneurs than Dianne Buckner, the host of CBC TV’s wildly popular Dragons’ Den. She takes audiences through the “entrepreneur’s journey,” from identifying niche markets to the art of the pitch to taking advantage of business trends—while sharing entertaining backstage peaks into life in “The Den.”
Prior to joining Dragons’ Den, Buckner was the host of CBC TV’s Venture; for 10 years, she chronicled the adventures of entrepreneurs as they set about getting their new businesses off the ground. Buckner was also the co-creator of Fortune Hunters, on the CBC News Network, which ran for two seasons, and focused on those social and consumer trends that created opportunities for entrepreneurs.
In addition to her role on Dragons’ Den, Buckner is a member of the Business Team at CBC News. She writes a weekly column about small business for cbc.ca, and she appears regularly on CBC’s local dinner-hour newscasts across Canada, reporting on the day’s top business stories.
In the course of her work, Dianne has spoken with prime ministers and celebrity CEOs, and has traveled extensively—to countries such as Japan, Australia, the Netherlands and Iceland—in pursuit of great stories.
