  • POWER OF PERSUASION

    Your ability to influence, that is to create and sustain positive change in others, directly impacts your ability to sell your products and services, pitch ideas, lead teams, manage projects, negotiate agreements, coach employees, and even collaborate with colleagues.

    Join Heath Slawner, the only professional certified in Canada to deliver the Principles of Persuasion Workshop, for an interactive presentation on the science that underlies the influence process. Stop missing opportunities. Discover how the 6 scientifically-proven persuasion principles effectively influence others to say "yes" to your requests more often.

    The content is based on the lifelong work of Dr. Cialdini, internationally recognized expert in the fields of persuasion and influence. To date, Dr. Cialdini is the most cited living social psychologist in the world.

    The unique, evidence-based presentation will cover all the principles and uses real-life examples to bridge the material to the audience's own situations and realities. Relevant examples include:

    Tapping the reciprocity principle, without which the other principles could not exist, to enhance your relationships and ability to gain compliance from your clients and co-workers;

    When to admit weaknesses in order to build credibility;

    Employing the rejection-then-retreat technique and having fallback positions to increase the chances of compliance;

    The power of "gifts" and how individuals and organizations regularly bungle away their power;

    Invoking scarcity to let people know what they stand to lose by not saying "yes" to you;

    Recognizing and constructing elusive "moments of power," during which people are especially receptive to your requests.

    Instinctively, audience members may already be using some of the principles on a daily basis. Others may be fumbling away critical opportunities to influence simply because they are not familiar with the principles.

    Stop relying on hunches and biases when it comes to influence and persuasion. Instead, let's look to hard science, which can show us very clearly that if you make a request one way, you'll get just so many positive responses, but if you make that same request another way, you can dramatically increase the number of positive responses.

    Participants will gain insight into how the influence process can be harnessed in their own environments and will take away tools and ideas that they can begin discussing and putting into practice right away.

    When you leave Heath's keynote presentation you will:

    Understand and be able to identify the 6 universal and scientifically-proven "principles of persuasion" that will most effectively influence others to say "yes" to your requests;

    Recognize how to employ these principles in positive (rather than manipulative) ways to produce change in others that is effective, enduring and ethical.

    Recognize and benefit from elusive "moments of power," during which people are especially receptive to your requests.

    Acquire a framework for analyzing and optimizing any challenging situation in which you are seeking to influence the behaviour or attitudes of other people.

  • Thanks for taking your valuable time and sharing your expertise with our team. The presentation was spot-on. Feedback has been extremely positive and just what was needed for this young group as they evolve their level of professionalism. Certainly didn't hurt for some of our so-called veterans to learn from this as well.
