Toronto native Amy Sky has become one of the most recognizable voices on the radio. With six albums, and numerous singles, Amy is one of the most cherished singers and songwriters the Canadian music industry. As both a writer and performer, Amy has been nominated for various awards, and has had the pleasure of working with artists such as Olivia Newton-John, Patti Labelle, Jon Secada, David Foster and Barry Manilow. Amy commits much of her time to various causes, including artist's rights and issues related to mental health.

Singer-songwriter Amy Sky burst onto the Canadian music scene in 1996, with her debut recording, Cool Rain. Best known for songs such as, "I Will Take Care of You" and "Do You Dance", Amy has become one of the most recognizable voices on the radio. She is also beloved for her musical adaptation of award-winning writer Maya Angelou's poem, "Phenomenal Woman." Classically trained with a Music Theory and Composition Degree from the University of Toronto, Amy has focused on writing for both herself and others. She has penned songs for international recording stars such as, Anne Murray, Belinda Carlisle, Heart, Cyndi Lauper, Reba McEntire, Diana Ross, Sheena Easton and Roch Voisine. Since 2005, she has branched into producing for others, including four CD's produced and co-written for Olivia Newton-John which received rave reviews from Billboard magazine. Amy has worked with many stellar guests artists in collaboration with Newton-John, including Patti Labelle, Michael McDonald, Jon Secada, David Foster, Barry Manilow, Sir Cliff Richard, and Jim Brickman.

As both writer and performer, Amy has been nominated for Juno, Socan, East Coast, West Coast Canadian Independent Music and American Song writing awards. The themes of family, spirituality, and relationships, highlight Amy's interest in and commitment to personal growth. Amy also commits much of her time to various causes, including championing artist's rights, for which she was awarded the first ever CRIA Applause award.

Her interest in and research into these areas has led to a natural evolution to the role of spokesperson for women's health issues. In addition to her role as host of Rogers TV parenting series The Baby Hour, Amy has spoken out extensively on her own experience with post partum depression. In 2006, she was awarded the CAMH Courage to Come Back award, and in 2009, she was honoured with the Mood Disorders Association Hero/Inspiration Award, for her commitment to helping remove the stigma from mental health issues.

    Like many, Amy Sky learned that she had experienced "Postpartum Depression" after the fact - when she was finally diagnosed correctly - after a long and painful illness. Her illness or "mood disorder" was caused by a chemical/ hormonal imbalance that can be triggered during huge transitions in our lives: adolescence, pregnancy and child birth, marriage, menopause, personal loss or tragedy, physical illness, old age... to name a few. Amy maintains that knowledge and self-awareness are key to building the resilience we all require, to manage our mental wellness through life's transitions. She explains the preventative measures we need to take to help us pay the same attention to the health of our minds as we do our bodies. In this emotionally generous presentation, Amy leaves audiences deeply moved and motivated to learn more, take better care and be well!
