
Barrie Shepley
Former National and Olympic Coach
In over 25 years of coaching, Shepley has helped to create over 100 national and international medallists in a number of sports. Shepley was Canada's first Olympic coach in the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games where Simon Whitfield won his historic gold-medal. In addition to his coaching, Shepley sits on many of Canada's national sporting boards, is a CBC sports analyst and a sought after keynote speaker. Shepley shares his passionate philosophy of what it takes to become successful in the ultra-competitive international sporting arena, and how those lessons can and should be transferred into your company's culture.
Few people have turned more lemons into lemonade then Barrie Shepley. With no government funds, Shepley started Canada's internationally recognized Kids of Steel youth triathlon program, designed to offer young adults sports opportunities in a positive environment. In over 25 years of coaching, Shepley has helped to create over 100 national and international medallists in a number of sports. As a coach, Shepley led Canada into the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games where Simon Whitfield won his historic gold-medal.
As a graduate in Kinesiology from McMaster University, Shepley has also been named a High Performance Coach from the National Coaching Institute. In addition, he has been named Coach of the Year in Canada on three occasions, Coach of the Year in Ontario two times, and has been inducted into Triathlon Canada's Hall of Fame.
