As the Executive Producer, Producer, Writer and Host of the Food Network’s David Rocco’s Dolce Vita, Rocco’s love of Italian food and culture, and his lust for life are evident in his hit television show that has just finished filming it’s fourth season.
Seen from coast to coast on Food Network Canada, David Rocco’s Dolce Vita is also broadcast on TLN and in French in Quebec via TVA, and is syndicated in over 120 countries worldwide. Dolce Vita will be airing nationally in the U.S. on the Food Network's new Cooking Channel. Prior to Dolce Vita, Rocco co-created the cooking/travelogue television series, Avventura, with his wife, Nina Rocco. Still in syndication in over 40 countries, this show was a 26-episode series filmed in Italy, which helped to establish and promote Rocco’s extraordinary culinary talents.
The latest season of Dolce Vita finds Rocco and his family living in a farmhouse in the Chianti area of Tuscany. Following his mantra of healthy, seasonal, simple Rocco makes delicious rustic Italian dishes using no fancy equipment or techniques that will inspire any home cook.
Rocco is the author of two cookbooks, David Rocco’s Dolce Vita, and Avventura, and he has also released the soundtrack to the Dolce Vita television series through Universal Music. In addition to his amazing culinary abilities, Rocco’s personal style is renowned, and he was named as one of Canada’s top ten style makers by Flare magazine in 2006.
Rocco’s passion for healthy cooking has led him to partner with several groups to promote the value of home cooking. In 2008, he created a series of 12 videos for The Ontario Heart and Stroke Foundation’s website. Rocco has also partnered with Ontario Premier Dalton McGuinty to inspire teenagers to cook as part of the Ontario government’s new legislation to encourage healthy eating.
