An iconic figure in India -- where she started her career at just 16 years old -- and abroad, Lisa has held starring roles in both Bollywood and Hollywood appearing in over 27 film and television titles. She is perhaps best-known for her performance in the Oscar-nominated film Water, directed by Deepa Mehta.

She has also been featured in the Canadian edition of Hello Magazine as one of the nation's "50 Most Beautiful People."

While promoting her starring role in Cooking with Stella at the 2009 Toronto International Film Festival, Lisa publicly shared her diagnosis of Multiple Myeloma from the red carpet. Lisa chronicled her experience as a young woman with cancer in her very personal blog, The Yellow Diaries, and helped raise funds to establish the first research chair for Multiple Myeloma at Princess Margaret Hospital in Toronto. Lisa is also a vocal part of the campaign "joinstemcellcity.com" that highlights the importance of stem cell research and frontier medicine, and in 2011 headlined the "Make Myeloma Matter" awareness campaign.

Sincer her diagnois, Lisa has acted as the host of Top Chef Canada; filmed a five-part series for TLC in India; and returned to the stage in live theatre productions. She also continues as a long-standing spokesperson for Rado Watches and as a celebrity ambassador for Plan Canada.

An advocate of health and wellness, Lisa is co-owner of a popular yoga studio and is writing a memoir about her life thus far.
