Our Story
In June 1995, Farah and Martin Perelmuter got married, moved, quit their jobs and took an entrepreneurial leap of faith.
They started Speakers' Spotlight with a strong belief that the needs of conference organizers, meeting planners and speakers could be served in new and better ways.
They had no speakers, no clients, no staff, no office, no industry experience or contacts, and in fact, no real business experience of any kind.
What they did have was a shared belief that a speech can be the catalyst for positive change - in the workplace, at home, in the community and in society at large. They also believed that if they built their business on a foundation of trust, the strength of their relationships with their clients and speakers would ultimately determine their company’s success.
Since that time, Speakers’ Spotlight has grown from a tiny home-based business, into one of the world’s largest and most respected speakers agencies. In the process, they have raised the bar of professionalism, service, and integrity in their industry to a new level.
Speakers' Spotlight has not only become the preferred agency of many of the world's leading speakers, corporations, associations, and public and private sector organizations, it was also named as one of Canada's 100 fastest-growing companies. It was listed in Profit Magazine as #29 on the PROFIT 100, Canada's authoritative ranking of high-growth companies.
Farah and Martin have been repeat finalists for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Awards, and they were named one of three Walk the Talk Top Employer Award winners. Speakers' Spotlight was also named one of the '50 Most Engaged Workplaces in North America' in 2010.
Speakers' Spotlight works with clients throughout North America, South America, Europe, the Middle East, Asia and Australia. To date, they have arranged more than 13,000 speaking engagements for clients in over 30 countries worldwide.
