Today's world economic climate has shifted from conditions that might be described as a gentle tail breeze on the bunny hill to what is now a head wind in an extreme sport that we didn't sign up for! Two groups of people will emerge during this recession. There will be those that sit with their head in their hands—drifting, stalled, stuck; and there will be those that choose to draw a line in the sand, take responsibility, maintain control, and remain accountable for their own lives and economic security.

In today's extreme conditions fear, doubt and uncertainty are paralyzing people's power, both professionally and personally. As outlined in Cary's book, HOW to WIN - Achieving Your Goals in Extreme Conditions, your attendees will discover the important distinction between the two kinds of fear we all experience. They will learn the four reactions to fear and which ones they are over or under using. • 3. Innovating in Times of Scarcity

In the current economic climate we're witnessing more fear and uncertainty than we have seen in more than 40 and perhaps as many as 70 years. In such extreme circumstances many will stumble, fall and fail, and yet others will prevail. How will those with the instinct and drive to win rise above their circumstances? They'll do it with optimism, an unwavering belief in themselves and through innovation. In one way or another, individuals who consistently achieve the best results have the courage to innovate even when it is very uncomfortable.

This presentation addresses two challenges facing leaders and top producers in any industry:

    • Identifying your brightest techniques...those places where you are brilliant
    • Recognizing the industry paradigms or the status quos that may be holding you back from innovating. Cary Mullen shares examples of how to identify and measure your brilliance. He also shows you how to breakthrough what seems 'logical' to the industry and innovate new approaches even if they might seem crazy to others.

On a shoestring budget and a finite amount of time to innovate and implement something new, Cary Mullen carved his way into the record books by using measurement, innovation and the 5 Winning Secrets™.

These Secrets™ outline how to get the results you want through innovation.

    • Pick Your Line: Get clear on where you want to improve.
    • Lunge Forward: Have the courage to try something different.
    • Be Resilient: Use adaptable persistence, the "tweak factor" mindset.
    • Teamwork Wins: Leverage the knowledge of others rather than reinvent it.
    • Winning Process: Learn to hone improvement and foster implementation.

  • Learn from one of sport's brightest leaders to innovate through scarcity.

"To unlearn and relearn something new - that is uncomfortable. But if it tests faster or will give us better results then we need to practice it until it becomes comfortable."

    • “Cary was fantastic. He was an excellent choice. I have been receiving great reviews so far. I received feedback from a few people that specifically mentioned how versed in Capital One speak he was. After the speech he had a table available for autographs. After about 20 minutes, there were still people lined up at the table. He then sat down with about five of us over lunch. He responded to everyone's questions and was very approachable.”
      Capital One Services Inc.
    • “Thanks for energizing our team. We all really enjoyed meeting you and hearing your story ... it was awesome! The next day, several people were using "lines" from your presentation - a sure sign that they enjoyed it and picked up something meaningful to them!”
      DuPont
    • “The message and delivery style on Wednesday was out of this world. His endearing smile touched everyone and his story was told with passion, excitement, and really tapped into everyone's spirit that anything is possible. He also made such a tight connection to the strategies he used to push himself to the next level of performance so we all walked away with something tangible.”
      AgriBank, FCB
    • “Cary's presentation was awesome! He was energetic and had the attention of everyone in the room. Employees were able to take something away from his presentation and actually use it. Sometimes when you get a speaker, they are usually too far over the top and lose the attention of the crowd - Cary did not do that. His FEATS cards were great, as it will help reinforce what he presented.”
      Wright Express
    • “Your presentation captured the entire audience from the very start, and kept their attention with a powerful message, great use of mixed media, and of course, your absolute sincerity.”
      American Bankers Association
    • “Your effort, dedication and time preparing for your presentation at the conference is greatly appreciated. You did a wonderful job. You helped provide a variety of choices to motivate, excite, and strengthen skills and techniques to help build strong, knowledgeable and happy departments.”
      New Mexico Heritage Hotels
    • “As it was, your story is compelling enough, but once you shared your knowledge of some of our obstacles, you could feel the team relating to you, and the message you delivered on how to overcome our daily challenges with The 5 Winning Secrets. Your approach was humble and it appeared you really did want to understand the specific issues our team faced and what message I wanted them to hear.”
      Bard Biopsy Systems
    • “Cary's talk was dynamic, energetic and thought-provoking, and I must say that while the fantastic footage of the ski races and stories of his years of racing left everyone thinking, "I never want to do that!!!", they also really understood the requirement for a "success system" to make it all happen. It seems that Cary, throughout his career, was always thinking about how he could identify the factors that lead to performance improvement, and over time, developed a system that he could duplicate again and again until he got the results he wanted. After his talk, many people remarked that they had no idea just how much preparation it took (both mental and physical) for an athlete to rise to the top of their game; or just how narrow the margin between success and failure was. I don't think that any of our attendees will ever look at an Olympic athlete (or any successful athlete) the same again!!”
      PFW Systems Corporation
    • “Every year we bring in an outside speaker to energize and motivate our sales team. Not only did Cary engage and entertain our team, he went above and beyond expectations with his ability to relate his experiences as a world-class athlete transforming them into relevant and excellent business lessons. I could hear our sales team talking about Cary after the event and to me that's the true sign of a winning presentation. I would not hesitate to recommend Cary to any business or organization that is looking for a guest speaker and performance coach.”
      TELUS
    • “I just wanted to share with you that Cary did an outstanding job for us in Cancun. Over the past 30 years I have attended more than my share of conferences and heard hundreds of keynote speakers. Cary really ranks right up there with the best of them. He kept the audience's attention throughout the session (not easy to do with more than 10 countries represented) and was able to share a message that resonated with everyone.”
