As the chief correspondent for Inside Edition, Jim Moret is widely recognized as one of the best human interest and high-profile celebrity news journalists in the field. Prior to working at Inside Edition, Moret was with CNN for nearly a decade, serving as co-anchor of the long-running Showbiz Today, as well as co-anchor of CNN's main newscast, The World Today, and anchor of CNN's NewsNight. Since joining Inside Edition, Moret has reported extensively on numerous high profile court cases including the Scott Peterson double murder trial, O.J. Simpson's criminal trial in Las Vegas, and the Anna Nicole Smith paternity hearings.  His first book, an inspirational memoir entitled, The Last Day of My Life, was published in July 2010.

Moret began his television career at KABC-TV as a legal and general assignment reporter.  He then worked as a reporter for KCBS-TV and eventually was named anchor of the station's morning newscast.  He moved to 20th Television's Personalities as senior correspondent, before co-hosting EDJ-Entertainment Daily Journal.

Before his move to Inside Edition, Moret was with CNN for nearly a decade, serving as co-anchor of the long-running Showbiz Today, as well as co-anchor of CNN's main newscast, The World Today, and anchor of CNN's NewsNight. Moret anchored breaking news stories and live events during his tenure at CNN, including the terrorist bombing of the USS Cole and the 2000 Democratic National Convention.  He also served as chief anchor for CNN's gavel-to-gavel coverage of the O.J. Simpson criminal trial, and anchor and analyst for Simpson's civil trial.

Since joining Inside Edition, Moret has reported extensively on numerous high profile court cases including the Scott Peterson double murder trial, O.J. Simpson's criminal trial in Las Vegas, and the Anna Nicole Smith paternity hearings.  Moret has conducted jailhouse interviews with convicted murderer Susan Polk and continued to follow the Phil Spector trial, obtaining exclusive footage and interviews of Spector and his assistant, as well as an exclusive tour of Spector's famed mansion called The Castle.

Moret's inspirational memoir, The Last Day of My Life, is his first book and has landed him appearances on Dr. Phil, Today, Joy Behar and numerous other television and radio shows.

A lawyer and gifted commentator, Moret is constantly in demand to provide legal analysis for a variety of news outlets for breaking stories involving celebrities.  In addition to his legal commentary, Moret frequently appears on Larry King Live as a guest host.
