Ezra Levant
TV News Anchor, Best-Selling Author & Provocateur
Ezra Levant knows when to talk - but he knows when to rant, too! As Canada's best-known Conservative pundit, Levant's talks are energetic, entertaining, articulate, insightful, controversial, and sure to provoke a great deal of discussion and debate. His first book, Shakedown, details his experience after being charged by the Alberta human rights commission in 2004 in connection with his work with his magazine, the Western Standard. His 2010 best seller, Ethical Oil: the Case for Canada's Oil Sands, won the National Business Book Award, and continues to cause a stir in "eco" circles all over the world.
Ezra Levant is a TV anchor, newspaper columnist, author and general trouble-maker!
After graduating from law school, he went to Ottawa as a parliamentary assistant to Preston Manning. It was to be the first of many romantic but doomed political campaigns.
Levant joined the editorial board of The National Post newspaper, shortly after its founding. His beat included national politics, the Supreme Court and the Middle East.
In 2004, Levant became the founding publisher of the Western Standard magazine, the only Canadian media outlet to publish the Danish cartoons of Mohammed. That led to two charges of “hate speech” before the Alberta government’s human rights commission.
Levant wrote a book about the experience, called Shakedown, which exposed the illiberal nature of Canadian human rights commissions. His new book called, Ethical Oil: The Case for Canada’s Oilsands, was published in September 2010 and won the National Business Book Award in Spring 2011.
To the relief of his wife, Levant finally got a real job this spring, when he joined the new Sun TV all-news channel as the host of a daily talk show called The Source.

Lobbyists, politicians, do-gooders, busy-bodies and lawyers--lots and lots of lawyers--are attacking your personal liberty.
Drive an SUV? Smoke the occasional cigar? Eat fast food? Not for long, you don't--not if the new Prohibitionists have their way.
They'll berate you, tax you and sue you, all the while telling you it's for your own good.
The War on Fun has begun. If you hope to preserve your way of life, you'll need to arm yourself. From Canada's most entertaining right wing rebel, Ezra Levant, comes a fascinating and alarming look at what's really going on in the battle against our lifestyles--and how Canadians can fight back against the onslaught before it's too late.

March 2009Shakedown
Part memoir, part investigative journalism, this is a shocking and controversial look at the corruption of Canada’s human rights commissions. In the wake of Levant’s 2008 showdown with Alberta’s ‘human rights commission’, he began investigating other instances in which innocent people have had their freedoms compromised by bureaucrats presuming to protect Canadians’ human rights. He discovered some disturbing and even bizarre cases. Human rights commissions now monitor political opinions, fine people for expressing politically incorrect viewpoints, censor websites, and even ban people, permanently, from saying certain things. Shakedown is a convincing plea to Canadians to reclaim their basic liberties.
