The popular Gord Kirke has been described as Canada's top sports lawyer and as one of the pre-eminent sports and entertainment lawyers in the world. Gord has represented a number of NHL hockey players including Eric Lindros, Mike Modano as well as the Toronto Blue Jays Baseball Club, Toronto Argonauts, Toronto Raptors, Toronto Maple Leafs and dozens of other noted sports and entertainment celebrities and entities. Gord negotiated the highest ever NHL contract for an entry-level player on behalf of his client, Rick Nash. He was retained by the Toronto Blue Jays to represent them in the Senator George Mitchell Investigation into Performance-Enhancing drugs in baseball. Gord recently represented the Toronto Maple Leafs Hockey Club in recruiting and signing Brian Burke as the new President and General Manager. He is a mediator who has been hired to mediate some of the most difficult and sensitive disputes in the business world.
