Dennis Hull
Humour & Hockey
Dennis Hull will readily admit to not being anything other than Bobby Hull's brother, as long as you add that he's the younger brother. He's even been known to answer to some asking for Brett Hull's uncle. A self-effacing brother to Bobby and proud uncle, Dennis is a fourteen-year veteran of the National Hockey League, known for his powerful shot, his six selections to the All-Star Game are a testament to his hockey skills. Dennis brings to the speaker's podium a wealth of anecdotes and stories from his many experiences. His understated after-dinner speaking style is his trademark, and he has quickly become one of the most sought after head table guests in the business.
A self-effacing brother to Bobby and proud uncle, Dennis is a fourteen-year veteran of the National Hockey League, spending 13 seasons with the Chicago Black Hawks and one with the Detroit Red Wings. He played in over 1,000 games during his NHL career and was known for his powerful shot on net, which many qualified observers, including rival goaltenders, say equalled or surpassed that of his brother Bobby. Over his career, Dennis amassed 303 goals and 351 assists in the regular season and scored 33 goals and the same number of assists in 95 playoff games. Six selections to the All-Star Game are further testament to his hockey skills.

October 1998The Third Best Hull
Hockey legend Gordie Howe once said there were two superstars in the Hull family: Bobby, the Golden Jet and one of the greatest players ever to tie up a pair of skates, and his brother Dennis, who had a solid career with the Chicago Blackhawks. Dennis Hull outlines his life in hockey with humorous anecdotes, insights, and stories. Not just another sports autobiography, this book provides insight into the life of a hockey star without taking itself too seriously. Recounted are the time Hull taught Guy Lafleur to speak English; how he once won a coin toss worth $250,000; and his ongoing rivalry with Henri Richard, the younger brother of the legendary Canadiens'' great Maurice Richard. Hull recounts the famed 1972 Russia-Canada series and speaks with stunning candor about his brother, Bobby; his nephew and St. Louis Blues'' star Brett Hull; and hockey legends like Howe, Ken Dryden, and Bobby Orr.
