Dr. Sanjay Gupta is most widely recognized as the Chief Medical Correspondent for CNN, and the host of the weekend program, House Call with Dr. Sanjay Gupta. Dr. Gupta is an assistant professor of neurosurgery at Emory University School of Medicine and associate chief of the neurosurgery service at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta. His involvement and contributions to the CNN's coverage has contributed to the receiving numerous awards including the Alfred I. duPont Award, the Peabody Award, the Clarion Award and an Emmy. Dr. Gupta regularly contributes articles to Time Magazine, and has penned New York Times bestselling books, Chasing Life and Cheating Death.

Dr. Gupta has been an integral part of CNN's coverage of many significant events and transitions since he joined the network in 2001. In 2003, he covered the medical situation in Iraq, performing surgery on U.S. soldiers, and wounded civilians. Dr. Gupta also aided and reported on the catastrophic disasters caused by the Sri Lankan tsunami, Hurricane Katrina and the Pakistani earthquake. His involvement and contributions to the CNN's coverage has contributed to the receiving numerous awards including the Alfred I. duPont Award, the Peabody Award, the Clarion Award and an Emmy. In 2004, Dr. Gupta was named 'Journalist of the Year' by the Atlantic Press Club, and has also been awarded the Humanitarian Award from the National Press Photographers Association, a GOLD Award from the National Health Care Communicators and the International Health and Medical Media award.
Dr. Gupta has designed and documented programs that cover various health and lifestyle issues, ranging from combating obesity to coping with stress. 'New You Resolution', 'Fit Nation', 'Fat Chance' are among a few of the initiatives and documentaries that have been promoted in attempts to foster healthy lifestyles.
