Emmy Award Winning Comedian, Author and United States Senator
Considered one of America's top comedians and satirists, Al Franken is a five-time Emmy winner for his work on Saturday Night Live, the 1997 Grammy winner for Best Comedy Album, and author of two best-selling books. Franken was part of the original writing staff that created the groundbreaking SNL in 1975. Franken is a well-known political satirist, the only comedian to perform twice at the White House Correspondents Dinners, and has established himself as one of the nation's top after-dinner speakers and lecturers.

He won recognition for such SNL characterizations as New-Age cable host Stuart Smalley, who was the subject of Franken's book I'm Good Enough, I'm Smart Enough and Doggone It, People Like Me.
Franken is the author of a number of other best-selling books including, Lies and the Lying Liars Who Tell Them: A Fair and Balanced Look at the Right, The Truth (with Jokes), Rush Limbaugh is a Big Fat Idiot, and Why Not Me? The Inside Story of the Making and Unmaking of the Franken Presidency. He has also been a contributing author at the Huffington Post, and has hosted his own political radio program. Franken has been a guest on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, The Late Show with David Letterman, Nightline, The Today Show, Good Morning America, CBS This Morning, Late Night with Conan O'Brien, Politically Incorrect, Inside Politics, The View and Larry King Live.
Franken's interest in American politics has been alive and well for decades, and in 2007, he announced his candidacy for the United States Senate. After a dramatic campaign, Franken was declared one of the Democratic Senators for the state of Minnesota.
Franken is the only comedian to perform twice at the White House Correspondents' Dinners, and as a satirist and passionate politician, he has established himself as one of North America's top speakers.
