Soumitra Dutta is Roland Berger Chaired Professor of Business and Technology at INSEAD and an authority on IT and business innovation. He co-authored the new book Throwing Sheep in the Boardroom: How Online Social Networking Will Transform Your Life, Work and World to help business leaders understand online social networking and how to embrace its power in the world of business.
Soumitra Dutta is a world-renowned authority on information technology and business innovation. He is Roland Berger Chaired Professor of Business and Technology at INSEAD and faculty director of elab@INSEAD, a center of excellence in the digital economy working in collaboration with organizations such as Morgan Stanley, SAP, Cisco and Intel. Throughout his distinguished career, he has focused on how to drive business innovation and growth through the right combination of innovative people and information technology.
In his book, Throwing Sheep in the Boardroom: How Online Social Networking Will Transform Your Life, Work and World, Dutta combines his knowledge of IT and innovation with the pop culture expertise of co-author Matthew Fraser. “Throwing Sheep” is a Web 2.0 term used to describe what people do on websites like MySpace and Facebook to get one another’s attention. The generation entering the workforce today - and entering boardrooms everywhere - is fully engaged with social networking and its uses. Soumitra Dutta obtained his doctorate in computer science and his M.Sc. in business administration from the University of California at Berkeley. He is a fellow of the World Economic Forum.
