Dr. Edward de Bono

Edward de Bono is regarded by many as the leading authority in the field of creative thinking. He is the author of over 80 books with translations into 37 languages and has lectured in 52 countries. His widely popular books include Six Thinking Hats, Serious Creativity, Lateral Thinking: Creativity Step-by-Step and Teach Yourself How to Think. His latest book, Think! Before It’s Too Late was published in April 2010.

De Bono is the originator of the concept of Lateral Thinking, which is now officially recognized in the Oxford English Dictionary. His methods are mandatory on the school curriculum in many countries. There is a huge global need for thinking that is creative and constructive and can design the way forward. Identifying and removing the cause cannot solve many of the major problems in the world. There is a need to design a way forward even if the cause remains in place, and de Bono has provided the methods and tools for this new thinking.

De Bono was a Rhodes Scholar at Oxford and holds an M.A. in psychology and physiology from Oxford, a D. Phil. in Medicine and also a Ph.D. from Cambridge. He has held faculty appointments at the universities of Oxford, Cambridge, London and Harvard. He has received many awards, including the Order of Merit awarded to only twenty living persons by the Malta government. There is even a planet named after him!
