Best known for his role as the host of Fashion Television's In Fashion, Glen Baxter continues to make an impact on Canadian radio, television and visual arts.
Raised in Montreal, Baxter studied Journalism at Ryerson and became involved in various Canadian media outlets. After a brief stint with Société Radio-Canada, he began his career with CHUM Television at MuchMusic as an on-air reporter for FAX, now MuchNews. Baxter made the transition into entertainment reporting and landed his current position as host for In Fashion. Baxter brings viewers the latest news from the worlds of fashion, design and photography on a weekly basis.
Over the last 20 years, Baxter has traveled extensively throughout Asia, Africa and the Middle East, where he has indulged his other passion – photography. His photos have been displayed in four solo exhibitions sponsored by Hugo Boss, with 100% of the proceeds benefitting various charities, most recently Right To Play. To date, Baxter has raised more than $45,000 for the charity organization from his annual exhibits and auctions. He also spent time visiting Right To Play's programs in the African nations of Benin and Ethiopia, where he met with volunteers and children who benefit from the organization's work. Baxter has also volunteered for the Canadian Foundation for Aids Research (CANFAR) as a Junior Committee Member for five years – where he helped raised close to half a million dollars for Aids research. Over the years, Baxter has also been a guest speaker and regular host for John Ralston Saul's Le Francais Pour L'Avenir (French for the Future), where he encouraged high school students to speak and learn French and shared his thoughts on bilingualism.
For the last 15 years, Baxter has dressed head-to-toe exclusively in HUGO by Hugo Boss. His classic style choices have landed him among the Toronto Star's Top 10 Best Dressed Men in Canada.
